Hey everyone, I am gonna be a first time buyer and I am so happy i found this site that it makes it easy to get my first inexpensive boy.. I wanted to ask some questions in regards to the whole order process to the boy Apollo.

1. On average how long does it usually take between ordering to shipping to receiving?
2. if it takes longer and I am out of town can i change the shipping address if its before it sends out?
3. Should I order via this site or Denverdolls.com? Is there any difference or should i go here since this is the official site?
4. For Apollo/Weylin, should i get the 8-9 wigs and the 1/3 doll clothes?
5. I heard that you can custom give options for specific eye colors, does the doll come with a random wig or without?

you dont have to answer everything, but anything will help me out incredibly. I want to order soon so i can possibly have him by at least the end of September before i travel.

It usually take 6-8weeks from the time you order to the time the doll is completed. Then you have shipping time and that can be any where from a few days to a week+ depending on where you live
2. if it takes longer and I am out of town can i change the shipping address if its before it sends out?
That is a question I think I would address to DENNIS, as I would imagine if the doll has not shipped yet, it should be easy to change the mailing address.
3. Should I order via this site or Denverdolls.com? Is there any difference or should i go here since this is the official site?
Again since I have only ordered from this site I can't say... DDE is an authorized seller of BBB/RS dolls so they do keep some inventory, but if you are looking for something that they do not have in stock, then if you went with them, they would have to place the order along with several others and you would have to wait for the whole DDE order to ship to get yours...and depending on how large the order is you might have to wait a bit longer. So it just depends...it's up to you.
4. For Apollo/Weylin, should i get the 8-9 wigs and the 1/3 doll clothes?
Yes and yes... for wigs... the head is measured around in cm's and then converted into inches for the wig. 60cm to about 65cm is considered 1/3 scale. After 68cm I'm not sure what you call it. Big?
5. I heard that you can custom give options for specific eye colors, does the doll come with a random wig or without?
Yes you can ask for a specific color for the eyes and if DENNIS has it available, he will see to it your doll has them. And to head off another question... dolls ship with 16mm eyes. Now the larger the eye, the more child-like the look, the smaller the eye the older and more wizened the look. The eye is the only organ in the body that does not really change the size from birth to death, only the size of the head changes, so since a BJD's head is not going to change size you change the eye for the look you want. I have never gotten a doll that did nto have a wig and I have seen other's box opening pix and they had recieved wigs too. So again I would ask DENNIS about that.

Now for your POLL Question.... Since I have never had the opportunity to get an WEYLIN I can't answer that. However having said that.. I do have an APOLLO, Liam Jinn, whom I dearly love. He is so spoiled, he's simply rotten. Which one you get is a hard decision... I believe from looking at them side by side the only difference is the Weylin has elf ears and Apollo's don't. Otherwise they are the same facial sculpt. So depending on what you want... Crown Prince of an Elven Clan or a dashing rogue/gentleman it's up to you as to which one you choose.
Hope this helps....

I have ordered from both companies, and both are great. If DDE has the doll you want in stock, you can get it quick and save on shipping (if you're in the US). If they don't have it in stock, you're better off ordering direct here. A Pre-order through DDE will probably take about a month longer to receive.

I own an Apollo and I love him to bits. Apollo and Weylin come with the same body btw. I do think the Weylin head looks more 'elflike'.

I'm planning to order a Weylin after I pass my drivers test.

Like to reward myself with nice gifts and it also sort of gives me a form of extra stimulation to work hard to get something. Like over a month ago, I pushed myself hard to pass my soil mechanics and foundation techniques examination. Last week I got back my grade and I passed, so I ordered a Gang NS the same day, through a Dutch dealer for Resinsoul.

Gang is also worth considering if you like slender and muscular. I chose him because it suits the character he's going to be.

Apollo or Weylin, if you're ordering and you're still not sure, you can always order a complete doll and a seperate head.

It took about forty-five business days for my Weylin to arrive on my doorstep--so roughly, it was a two-month wait. ^^

2. if it takes longer and I am out of town can i change the shipping address if its before it sends out?
Ah... Dennis might be able to answer this question, but if you order from DDE, I'm sure you can. ^^

3. Should I order via this site or Denverdolls.com? Is there any difference or should i go here since this is the official site?
As Freque said, if the doll is in stock, its best to go through DDE or Junkyspot. ^^ My dealings with either company have been spectacular (for the most part).

4. For Apollo/Weylin, should i get the 8-9 wigs and the 1/3 doll clothes?
Yes! 8/9" wigs are perfect for Weylin/Apollo--but you have to be careful as they have a slightly smaller head than typical 8/9" heads. 1/3 clothes will fit them for the most part.

Amusingly enough, I bought a pair of pants for my Weylin from dollmore.net that turned out too big--I bought a pair of pants from Mintoncardinc.com that turned out [almost] too small for his fat butt. xD

He's a special case, I tell you. <3 But I loves him anyway.

5. I heard that you can custom give options for specific eye colors, does the doll come with a random wig or without?
As far as I can see, lately Dennis has been sending random wigs with the dolls. I'm sure if you ask, he can give you specific colored eyes and perhaps a specific colored hair, too. *nodnod*

I did not ask for either with my Weylin; Dennis sent two pairs of blue eyes and brown wig--the wig looked horrendous! But the eyes are nice. =D

As for my over-all view on which mold I think you should get... That's entirely up to you. ^__^; I adore both Weylin and Apollo (though I do not yet own an Apollo--this will be remedied someday!). I have played with so many Weylin and Apollo and they've each been so different and...in a word? Adorable. It's a tough choice, which one to get first.

(I only got Weylin first because one of my friends has a Weylin that I fell in LOVE with. ^^;;; )

I was just searching through Ebay and had found a Weylin up for bidding, so i jumped on it, and ended up getting the winning bid (was the only one who bid). I was sure it was fate that made me go to there and find him. Though he does have a nick in his lip, its not anything i am worried about and the seller has 100% Positive Feedback and lives in the next state over. I am excited, and thank you everyone for feedback! I will definitely be looking into getting another soon.

I am hoping to get "Moon" soon, and will be brushing up on my sewing skills and will be searching for a perfect silver wig, he comes with blue eyes and a short brown wig.

I have a question, i am new to this whole world, and I was wondering:
What do you tell people when you have to explain you are into dolls? Especially when you are in your twenties?

Not that i think its juvenile and i have wanted a BJD for years, since i had gotten married and i love their beauty. But for people who really dont feel the same, how do you keep your head up above being teased coz i know my husband is gonna tease me even if this is a bday present.

Dahling.... if I told you hold old I am.... I'd embarass a lot of people. Lets just say it I'm looking at the downhill side of 50. And I build resin models for fun and contest, so there is nothing juvenile about this hobby.

What does it matter what other people think? I'm in my twenties and have been collecting for the past, what...two years? (okay, i haven't been in the hobby that long, but still!)

I've been playing with dolls all my life--I never grew out of them. Even when I was in High School, I'd cart around a plushie or barbie or something and tell everyone else to eff off and mind their own business--but that's just me. ^^;; I kinda, like I said, don't care what other people say.

So... I can't really tell you how to act... we're all different people with different personalities. ^^;
